Firstly, a group of six works (four illus. here) originally from Wantabadgery homestead, a grazing property owned by generations of the Murdoch family. Recently rediscovered oils by E Phillips Fox, Arthur Streeton, Frederick McCubbin and Clara Southern. Four works illustrated here, too, from the Estate of Prue Socha, late of Naremburn, Sydney. Her collection included examples by Brett Whiteley and Kenneth Macqueen; also, an incised original watercolour on woodblock by Cressida Campbell, “Pyrmont,’ 1984. A family collection of three oils by Heidelberg artist, Florence Hayward (two shown here). Her works only rarely come to market. And, a wonderful Ricketts Point evening view by Clarice Beckett, accompanying Rupert Bunny’s view of Bandol, in the south of France. These works consigned by the same private collector.
